Blend two photos into one picture

Double exposures, textured overlays and soft light effects all come from laying one picture over another. Attach two photos, ask ToolGPT to blend them, and pick from tiles that show each blend mode made from your own pair.

What it can do

  • Six modes to compare

Normal, Multiply, Screen, Overlay, Soft light and Difference, each shown as the finished blend of your two pictures.

  • Lighten by name

Ask for Lighten and ToolGPT uses it, even though it has no tile of its own.

  • Opacity from 0 to 100

Set how strongly the top picture shows, or ask to see one mode at three strengths side by side.

  • Bottom and top, your choice

Say which picture goes underneath. The gallery's title names both pictures, the bottom one first, so you can check before you tap.

  • The base photo's shape

The result keeps the size and shape of the bottom picture, and the top picture is scaled to cover it.

How it works

  1. 1

    Attach two photos

Add both pictures with the + button, and say which one should go on top. No account is needed.

  2. 2

    Pick a blend mode

Ask ToolGPT to blend them and tap the tile that looks right. Ask for it softer or stronger to compare opacities.

  3. 3

    Download the blend

The blended image appears in the chat with a download button. Both original photos stay as they were.

What each mode does

Screen brightens, so the light parts of both pictures show through, which gives the classic double exposure look. Multiply darkens and suits textures such as paper or fabric. Overlay and Soft light add the top picture's contrast and color, Difference produces strong, inverted-looking colors, and Normal simply lays one picture over the other at the opacity you choose.

You do not need to remember any of this. The tiles show each mode on your actual photos, so you can choose by eye.

Tips for a good double exposure

Most double exposures pair a portrait or silhouette with a landscape, a city skyline or a texture. A plain, bright background behind the person lets the second picture show through clearly. Start with Screen at about half strength, then ask to see it stronger or weaker.

To combine more than two pictures, blend two first, then blend the result with the next photo.

Pictures only, made on your device

Blending works on still images; there is no video blend. The blend is drawn in your browser, so neither photo is uploaded to make it. The result is saved as a JPEG unless you ask for PNG or WEBP.

Frequently asked questions

What if the two photos are different sizes?

The result takes the size and shape of the bottom picture. The top picture is scaled to cover it and centered.

Can I blend a photo onto a video?

No. Blending works on images only.

Can I make the result smaller?

Yes. Ask for a maximum size for the longest side, and the blend is made at that size.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Both photos are blended in your browser.
