ToolGPT

Convert images between JPEG, PNG and WEBP

A website refuses WEBP, a design tool wants PNG, or a folder of screenshots is too heavy. Attach the images, name the format you need, and ToolGPT converts them in your browser, with a rough size for each format shown first.

What it can do

  • Three output formats

JPEG for photos that need to open almost anywhere, PNG for sharp edges and transparency, WEBP for small files.

  • Size estimates first

A card gives a rough size for each format and warns when PNG would make your photos bigger.

  • Several images at once

Attach a batch and ask once; each image becomes its own converted file.

  • Quality control

Ask for higher or lower quality for JPEG and WEBP. PNG is lossless, so quality does not apply.

  • Resize while converting

For a single image, ask for a new width or height in the same message and both happen together.

How it works

  1. 1

    Attach the images

Add JPEG, PNG, WEBP or GIF files with the + button, or drop them into the chat. No account is needed.

  2. 2

    Name the format

Say which format you need, or ask which one fits. Tap the format on the card that shows the rough sizes.

  3. 3

    Download the converted files

Each converted image appears in the chat with a download button. The originals are not changed.

Which format should you choose?

JPEG is the usual choice for photographs because nearly every app and website accepts it. WEBP usually gives the smallest file at the same visual quality. PNG stores every pixel exactly and keeps transparent backgrounds, which suits logos, icons and screenshots of text.

Converting a photograph to PNG often makes it much larger. That is expected rather than a fault, and ToolGPT says so on the card before you choose, so you are not surprised by a heavier file.

What changes and what stays

The picture keeps its pixel size unless you ask for a resize. JPEG has no transparency, so see-through areas turn white; a logo on a see-through background is safest kept as a PNG.

A GIF is read as a still image from its first frame. HEIC photos from iPhones open only in browsers that read HEIC themselves, such as Safari. The converted file is drawn afresh, so details stored in the original, such as camera data or GPS location, are not copied across.

Converted in your browser

Your images are converted on your device, not uploaded to a conversion site. Results stay in the chat, where you can download them one by one or ask ToolGPT to bundle several into a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

Why did my PNG come out bigger?

PNG keeps every pixel without loss, so photographs usually take more space in it. Choose JPEG or WEBP when file size matters.

Can it convert iPhone HEIC photos?

Only in a browser that opens HEIC itself, such as Safari. In other browsers, attach a JPEG version of the photo instead.

Can it convert to GIF, AVIF or TIFF?

No. Photos can be saved as JPEG, PNG or WEBP. An animated GIF can be made from a video, which is a separate tool.

Are my images uploaded?

No. The images are converted in your browser.
