Turn a photo the right way: rotate, flip or mirror it

Phones and scanners do not always save a picture the right way round. Attach the photo, ask ToolGPT to rotate it, and tap the option that looks right: each one is drawn on your own photo first. The new copy is made in your browser.

What it can do

  • Five options on your photo

Rotate left, Rotate right, Upside down, Mirror and Flip vertically, each drawn on your picture next to the photo as it is.

  • Exact turns by asking

Say “90 degrees to the right” or “mirror it” and ToolGPT makes that copy without showing the options first.

  • A turn and a flip together

Ask for both in one message when a photo needs a quarter turn and a mirror image.

  • Nothing cut off

The whole picture is kept: nothing is cropped or resized, and a quarter turn swaps the width and the height.

  • Your choice of format

Keep the photo's own format, or save the turned copy as JPEG, PNG or WEBP.

How it works

  1. 1

    Attach the photo

Add a JPEG, PNG or WEBP with the + button, or drop it into the chat. No account is needed.

  2. 2

    Pick the turn

Ask to rotate or flip it, then tap the tile that looks right, or say exactly how to turn it.

  3. 3

    Download the new copy

The turned photo appears in the chat with a download button. The original stays as it was.

See every turn before you choose

Left and right are easy to mix up, and a mirror image is easy to confuse with a turn. The card draws each option on your own photo with the same steps the saved file gets, so the tile you tap is the picture you download.

Some phones save a selfie as a mirror image, so writing in it reads backwards; Mirror swaps left and right to fix that. For a photo lying on its side, Rotate left or Rotate right is the fix, while Flip vertically turns the picture into its own reflection, top to bottom.

Quarter turns only

Photos turn in steps of 90 degrees, so a horizon that is a few degrees off cannot be straightened here. A quarter turn changes the shape of the picture: a landscape photo becomes a portrait one.

JPEG and WEBP files are saved again after turning, so the new file can differ slightly in size and quality. Details stored in the original, such as the camera model or GPS location, are not carried over.

Turned in your browser

The turn happens on your device, so the photo is not uploaded to rotate it. For a video, attach it and ask for a rotation: that is a separate ToolGPT tool, the video rotator.

Frequently asked questions

Can I rotate a photo by a few degrees?

No. Photos turn in quarter turns: 90, 180 or 270 degrees.

Can I rotate a video here?

Not with this tool. ToolGPT's video rotator turns and flips videos; attach the video and ask.

Is my original photo changed?

No. The turned photo is saved as a new file.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The photo is rotated in your browser.
