ToolGPT

Zip files together into one download

When ToolGPT has made a stack of page images, video parts or resized photos, saving them one by one gets slow. Say “zip these up”, or name the files you want, and they go into a single .zip, built in your browser.

What it can do

  • Everything at once

With no files named, the zip holds every result kept in Output Files in this browser, earlier chats included, but not your own uploads.

  • Your choice and order

Name the files you want, from your attachments or results, in the order they should appear.

  • Any kind of file

Videos, audio, images, PDFs and even an earlier zip can go in.

  • Files go in unchanged

Nothing is converted or re-encoded; each file is stored exactly as it is.

  • No name clashes

Two files with the same name are kept apart with a number, such as frame (2).png.

How it works

  1. 1

    Make or attach your files

Use ToolGPT to convert, split, export or resize files, or attach files you already have with the + button.

  2. 2

    Ask for a zip

Say “zip these up”, or name the files you want. ToolGPT builds the .zip as a new result in the chat.

  3. 3

    Download the .zip

Press the download button on the zip's card to save it. Nothing downloads on its own.

What goes in the zip

If you just say “zip everything”, ToolGPT bundles every result kept in Output Files in this browser, such as converted videos, page images and GIFs, including results from earlier chats. It leaves out the files you attached yourself. To include an original, or to pick only some results, name them; they go in the order you list.

A file that turns out to be empty is left out, and ToolGPT tells you which one instead of calling the zip complete.

A bundle, not a compressor

Zipping does not make compressed media smaller. Videos, MP3s, JPEGs and other already-compressed files are stored as they are, so a zip of them is about as large as the files added together. To shrink a video, a PDF or photos, ask ToolGPT to compress them; each has its own compression tool.

A zip needs at least two files. Because your browser holds the whole archive in memory while it builds it, the limit is 100 files and 1 GB in total. For more than that, make two zips.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded to make the zip?

No. The zip is built in your browser from files that are already in the chat.

Can ToolGPT open a zip file?

No. It can make a zip but not unpack one. Attach the files from inside it instead.

Why can't I zip a single file?

A zip of one file is the same file in a wrapper, so ToolGPT asks you to add at least one more file or simply save the original.
