ToolGPT

Crop an image and see the result before you cut

Profile pictures, feed posts and stories each want a different shape. Attach your photo, ask ToolGPT to crop it, and choose from tiles that preview every shape on your own picture. The cropped copy is made in your browser.

What it can do

  • Shapes shown on your photo

Tiles for 1:1, 4:5, 9:16, 16:9 and 3:2 sit next to the photo as it is, so you can compare before choosing.

  • You choose what stays

Crops are centered by default. Say “keep the top” and ToolGPT shows the same shape anchored three ways.

  • Exact pixel crops

Type a width and a height, such as 1080 by 1350, and an area of exactly that many pixels is cut out, without scaling.

  • 5:4 on request

Ask for 5:4 by name. It has no tile of its own, but the crop accepts it.

  • Your choice of format

Keep the original format, or save the cropped photo as JPEG, PNG or WEBP.

How it works

  1. 1

    Attach the photo

Add a JPEG, PNG or WEBP with the + button, or drop it into the chat. No account is needed.

  2. 2

    Pick a shape

Ask ToolGPT to crop it. Tap the tile that keeps the right part, or type exact pixel numbers.

  3. 3

    Download the cropped photo

The cropped image appears in the chat with a download button. Your original photo is kept unchanged.

See the crop before anything is cut

Typing ratios into a form is guesswork: you only find out afterwards that a square crop cut off someone's head. ToolGPT previews each shape on the photo you attached, so the tiles show exactly which part of the picture each crop keeps.

If the right shape keeps the wrong part, say so. “Keep the top” or “move it to the left” makes ToolGPT show that one shape anchored in three different places, and you tap the one that works.

Shapes for common uses

Square (1:1) suits profile pictures and many feeds. Portrait 4:5 fills more of a phone screen in a feed, 9:16 is the full-screen vertical shape used by stories, 16:9 matches widescreen video and slides, and 3:2 is the shape of many camera photos and prints.

Typed pixel sizes are cut from the photo at full size, without scaling. For a site that wants 1080 × 1350, crop to 4:5 first and then resize. A number larger than the photo keeps all of that side, because cropping can only remove.

What cropping does not do

Cropping only removes edges. It never adds borders or stretches the picture, and it does not make the photo larger. To change the pixel size, use the image resizer after cropping. The crop runs in your browser, so the photo is not uploaded to cut it.
