ToolGPT

Resize a video for an Instagram feed post

ToolGPT's Instagram Feed recipe is not the same as its Reels recipe: it makes a 4:5 portrait video at 1080×1350 instead of a tall 9:16 one. A landscape or vertical clip fits that frame without losing any of the picture.

How it works

  1. 1

    Attach the video

Open ToolGPT and add the video with the + button, or drop it into the chat. No account is needed to start.

  2. 2

    Open the Instagram Feed recipe

Ask for the Instagram feed. The card previews the 4:5 frame; change the background, or move the 60-second window if the video is longer.

  3. 3

    Apply and download

Press Apply. The 1080×1350 MP4 appears in the chat with a download button, and your original stays as it was.

A 4:5 frame at 1080×1350

The feed recipe writes a 1080×1350 MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio. A landscape 16:9 clip fills the width, with bands of background above and below. A tall 9:16 phone video fills the height, with narrower bands on the left and right. A video that is already 4:5 fills the frame exactly.

The bands are a blurred copy of your video by default. You can switch them to black, white or a solid color on the card.

30 frames per second, up to 60 seconds

This recipe caps the frame rate at 30 fps, lower than the 60 fps of the vertical recipes. A 60 fps clip comes out at 30 fps, while a 24 or 25 fps film keeps its own rate.

It also keeps at most 60 seconds. A longer video opens with its first minute selected; drag the window on the card, or tell ToolGPT the start time.

Frequently asked questions

Feed or Reels: which recipe should I use?

Use Instagram Feed for a 4:5 portrait post and Instagram Reels for a full-height 9:16 video. Both are on the same card, so you can compare them on your own video before applying.

Will my video be cropped to 4:5?

No. The whole picture is fitted inside the frame. If you would rather fill the frame by cutting the edges, ask ToolGPT for a 4:5 crop instead.

Is my video uploaded?

No. The feed recipe runs in your browser.
