Add the full video with the + button. A long recording is fine; you choose the part in the next step.
Ask for a Short. The card plays a preview in the 9:16 frame and shows a 60-second window on a filmstrip of your video, which you can drag.
Press Apply. The MP4 appears in the chat with a download button, and the original video is not changed.
A 16:9 picture placed in a 9:16 frame fills the full 1080-pixel width and about a third of the height. ToolGPT fills the rest with a blurred, enlarged copy of the same footage, so the Short looks complete instead of floating on black. If you prefer plain bars, choose black, white or a color on the card.
The result is an H.264 MP4 with AAC audio, at your video's own frame rate up to 60 fps.
The Shorts recipe keeps up to 60 seconds. For a longer video, the first minute is selected to begin with. Move the window on the filmstrip and press play: the preview plays only the selected part. You can also give the times in the chat, such as “from 3:10”.
Bars are not the only option. To make the picture fill the vertical frame, ask ToolGPT to crop the video to 9:16 first. The crop cards show exactly which part of your frame is kept, so you can see whether someone at the edge would be cut out. Then prepare the cropped result for Shorts.
